July 31, 2013 Dear Students and Parents/Guardians, My name is Melissa Curry and I’ll be your English Language Arts teacher this year. I cannot wait to meet you and am excited about our year together! About Mrs. Curry: I am happily married to my high school sweetheart. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, cooking, and spending time with my family. I am a North Carolina State alum and am an avid WOLFPACK fan! This summer I graduated from North Carolina A&T State University with a Master's of Art in Reading Education. Online Etiquette
1. Be respectful to others. No cheap shots!!!
2. Proofread your comments before posting them (read them aloud if you have to). 3. Make sure you give credit to other people for their ideas. 4. Exercise good judgment. 5. Disagree respectfully. Don’t criticize or insult. 6. Don’t share personal information. When responding to posts, use the initial of your name and then spell out your last name. For ex. jdoe for Jane Doe OR only use your first name, for ex. Jane One last piece of information--your comments will be seen online by other people, including me. If you say something mean, hurtful, disrespectful, inappropriate, and so on about yourself, a classmate, teacher or anything in general--consequences will take place!! Just like our classroom, our online activities should be a safe environment. |

Dear Students and Parents/Guardians, I hope you are having a lovely school year. I know I am having a blast getting to know each and every one of you. I would like to say a BIG thank you to the parents for raising such wonderful young adolescents. I am truly blessed to be their teacher.
